If you have an I-Phone and especially if your like me and your still using the now incredibly archaic 3G or 3GS you're probably finding that it's about as fast as molasses and as reliable as a PC.

This may be old news, but I just found a way to make your phone much faster and with a longer battery life! And this trick works for all I-Phones including the 4G.

If you have updated your software to 4.0 or newer, your phone will continue to run apps even though you think you have closed them. Every time you run an app it NEVER turns off! When I tried this trick I had 50 apps running! No wonder the battery only lasted half a day and the thing crashed and shut down constantly.

So, to turn off the the apps on your phone;

• Click the home button twice
• A small window will pop up at the bottom
• Press and hold anyone one of the icons at the bottom of the screen 
• They will "shake" and have a minus sign in a red circle
• Tap each icon with the red circle to turn off the app and the icon will disappear
• 

Once you have done this all the apps are still on your phone and ready for use, but they are turned off.

Before you trade in your phone, give it a try and see how many apps you have running. Then go in and turn off your apps every day or so...
