Undercoating is a thick water tight sealant mixed with rust inhibitors which is sprayed to the frame and floor boards of a vehicle. We are careful not to undercoat the exhaust, drive train and other mechanical items as the undercoat can interfere with their operation.

Undercoat usually takes a few hours to become tacky allowing the vehicle to leave our shop and be driven for light use. Within 24 to 48 hours the undercoat will be fully cured allowing the vehicle to be used in rain, salt, sand and gravel. Undercoating not only protects the underside of your vehicle from road debris, salt, rust and corrosion. But it also reduces road noise by up to 50%.

Salt, Sand, and Grime

Winter is quickly approaching and that means holidays, ski trips and dirty roads. As the forecast is for one of the coldest winters on record, your vehicle will be punished by salt, sand, and rocks. It is very hard to keep your car clean in the winter due to the constant salting of roads and wet conditions not to mention, it’s too cold.

It is important to remember to wash your vehicle often in the winter months. The road salt and sand will get into everything including body work, suspension parts, door hinges, the engine bay and more. If you regularly run your car through a high pressure wash with an under carriage blaster you’ll rinse all this debris from these vital components and protect them from rust and wear.  Not only will your vehicle’s finish look better and last longer, you’ll have less repair bills down the road.
